Teresa M. Brodin, M.Ed., Life and Career Coach
Teresa Brodin is an energetic life and career coach that utilizes a model of coaching rooted in the belief that a coach helps spark and support the natural creativity, resourcefulness and idea wholeness of clients. This approach, known as the co-active model of coaching, holds that everyone possesses the capacity for knowing what is best for their lives and the coach helps explore, reinforce and support those ideas. To assist her clients in meeting their goals and achieve their best possible life, Teresa harnesses her more than 25 years of experience directing leadership development and coaching initiatives for major organizations. Teresa has coached people of all levels, from entrance to executives, new leaders, high potential and individuals in her private practice.
Teresa has had a noteworthy focus on assertiveness, relationships, anxiety and stress, effective communication in work and social settings, conflict resolution, dealing with change in all areas of life, career development, and work-life integration. Teresa believes strongly in the power of appreciative inquiry and mindfulness and the role it plays in experiencing all areas of life, and that living purposefully and mindfully allow individuals to open to a clearer way of seeing themselves in their personal and professional lives.
Teresa’s approach to coaching identifies the roles individuals play in creating obstacles while exploring ways to reach desired outcomes and designing possibilities. Teresa supports her clients in recognizing that they have the ability to move forward and make the changes we most desire and work to tear down any roadblocks that arise.
Teresa is a member of the American Society for Training and Development, a past member of the board of directors of the Prince William County Schools Education Foundation and has been involved in Career Advisory Network at The Women’s Center, a non-profit in Vienna. Teresa previously worked as a corporate education and leadership development executive at Novant Health, as an organizational development and training executive at Prince William Hospital and as an education and development consultant at Inova Health System.
Teresa has a master’s degree in counseling and development and a bachelor’s degree in sociology from George Mason University, is a graduate of the Coach Training Institute, has a graduate-level certificate in Leadership Coaching for Improved Performance from George Mason, and is an Associate Certified Coach through the International Coach Federation.
