Peggy Maslanka, ADHD Coach
Peggy Maslanka, mental health coach at Goose Creek Consulting, specializes in Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and executive function coaching. A passionate advocate for her clients and an action-oriented proactive problem-solver, Peggy is driven by her belief that there is always a way to overcome any obstacle and that it is just a matter of finding the solution. Peggy’s passion is to work with clients to improve quality of life, academic and work performance.
In her coaching, Peggy’s goal is to find positive coping techniques to manage ADHD symptoms and improve executive function skills. Some of the skills she works to improve are planning, time management, prioritization, organization, inattention, social skills development and impulse control. Peggy is sensitive to the fact that many of those struggling with ADHD or executive function skills may have greater levels of stress and frustration or other mental health concerns, such as anxiety, depression or substance abuse. Peggy addresses these areas in her coaching and works with her clients to foster an environment of personal growth and proactive change.
Peggy appreciates the unique view of the world that people with ADHD or various executive function difficulties have and teaches her clients the skills necessary to develop their strengths. She encourages her clients to take advantage of the creative and productive sides of ADHD, such as hyper-focus. This approach allows Peggy to bring an unparalleled level of understanding and empathy to her coaching sessions.
Peggy’s coaching process focuses on assisting clients to build their strengths and foster self-awareness and growth. She considers her role as a coach to be guiding and supporting her client through this process. Peggy’s extensive professional experience has allowed her to develop the skills and understanding necessary to bring together a variety of treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and interpersonal skill building. Peggy understands the various struggles each client goes through and tailors her coaching to the needs of her client while providing validation and encouragement.
