Science-based development, in practice.

Healthcare Executive Team
Federal Healthcare C-Suite Development Assessment Facilitation

Building the C-Suite of one of the world's largest integrated healthcare organizations

Global Federal Healthcare Organization · 180,000+ Employees
The Challenge

This organization was in the middle of the largest startup and merger in US healthcare history — growing from 13,000 to 180,000 employees. Its C-Suite needed to develop rapidly as leaders, build collective capacity as a team, and navigate extraordinary complexity, all simultaneously. The organization needed a development partner who could move fast, think in systems, and deliver a program worthy of its most senior leaders.

Our Approach

Goose Creek designed and delivered a flagship C-Suite Executive Assessment and Coaching Program for 15 senior executives. Working in partnership with Korn Ferry, we deployed the Korn Ferry Assess and Leadership Agility Coaching Report alongside custom career history questionnaires — integrating the data into proprietary leadership dashboards built specifically for this engagement. Individual results were benchmarked against a custom Success Profile developed for this C-Suite and presented to the CEO in a Group Talent Review. Executive coaching, facilitated team sessions focused on strategy and team development, and advisory support to two successive CEOs complemented the formal program. Within 10 months, the program was expanded into a Senior Leader Development Program serving the next level of nearly 100 leaders — incorporating Hogan assessments, 360 feedback via CustomInsight, individual coaching, frequent facilitations, and Capstone projects. Goose Creek also assisted with competency modeling and leadership continuum design.

Outcomes
  • 100% of first-year participants strongly agreed or agreed their coach listened to them; 89% agreed their coach helped them with developmental needs
  • Program expanded to Senior Leaders within 10 months, touching nearly 100 additional leaders
  • Custom Success Profile and Group Talent Review became central tools for CEO decision-making on leadership development and personnel
  • Goose Creek served as trusted advisors to two successive CEOs on leadership strategy

"She gives selflessly of her time, listens and processes in a way that helps me be a better leader. The time spent with her is the highlight of my developmental journey."

Relaunching a national leadership development program post-pandemic — and building a lasting assessment capability

National Nonprofit Organization · Hundreds of Local Chapters
The Challenge

One of the nation's largest nonprofit organizations needed to relaunch its multicultural leadership development program after COVID-19 disrupted operations across hundreds of local chapters. They needed a partner who understood mission-driven culture, could deliver high-quality leadership development at scale, and could build lasting internal assessment capability — not just deliver a program and leave.

Our Approach

Goose Creek began by facilitating the relaunch of the multicultural leadership development program, then expanded into a full Leadership Development Institute for local chapter CEOs, executive directors, and aspiring senior leaders. We delivered Hogan assessment feedback to hundreds of leaders across the organization. To build durable internal capacity, we delivered a Hogan Certification Workshop supplemented by a Goose Creek-designed workshop to deepen practitioners' skills in applying assessment data in development contexts. The quality of this work led directly to an invitation to provide Hogan feedback sessions and facilitate an executive retreat for the organization's own C-Suite.

Outcomes
  • Hogan assessments delivered to hundreds of leaders across the organization's national network
  • Internal learning and development team certified in Hogan, building lasting assessment capability
  • Engagement expanded to include C-Suite Hogan feedback sessions and executive team retreat
  • Partnership driven by shared mission-centered values and Goose Creek's depth in leadership and organizational development

Developing every leader in a Department of Navy division — from supervisor to executive

Naval Research & Development Division · 150+ Leaders
The Challenge

A Division of the Department of the Navy wanted to develop all of its civilian leaders — supervisors, managers, and executives — within a single, cohesive program. The goal was to provide every leader with assessment-based insight, individual coaching, and group development experiences, while simultaneously generating organization-level data that could inform workforce development priorities.

Our Approach

Goose Creek designed, developed, and implemented the All Leader Coaching Program — a year-long engagement structured into six cohorts over ten months. Every participant received Korn Ferry 360-degree assessment feedback and individual coaching. Facilitated workshops on leadership development and group assessment results anchored each cohort. At the conclusion of all cohorts, Goose Creek developed and delivered a Command Presentation that analyzed the results of all program participants, identifying the most critical competency demands and priority areas for continued investment across the organization.

Outcomes
  • More than 150 supervisors, managers, and executives assessed and coached over 10 months
  • Six cohort facilitations delivered on leadership development and group assessment results
  • Command-level analysis provided actionable intelligence on workforce development priorities
  • Program delivered on time, on budget, and in full compliance with contract requirements

Turning employee engagement data into leadership action at a world-renowned scientific agency

Federal Science & Standards Agency · 6,600 Employees
The Challenge

A major division of a world-renowned federal science agency identified an opportunity to improve employee engagement — but wanted to take an evidence-based approach rather than rely on the standard federal employee viewpoint survey. They needed a partner who could design and administer a more rigorous instrument, analyze the data with depth, and translate findings into targeted development for division leaders.

Our Approach

Working in partnership with Korn Ferry, Goose Creek administered an in-depth employee engagement survey to several hundred employees — generating more actionable data than the traditional federal survey. We created custom reports for each of the eight division directors and presented overall findings to the agency director with conclusions and recommendations. Focus groups with multiple divisions fleshed out survey details and fed into the agency's strategic plan. Individual executive coaching for each division director was anchored directly in the survey results and action plans developed with the Front Office. The success of the initial engagement led to a significant expansion through a large supplemental contract.

Outcomes
  • Custom engagement survey administered to several hundred employees, generating richer data than standard federal instruments
  • Eight custom division reports and agency-wide findings delivered to senior leadership
  • Survey findings incorporated into the agency's strategic plan
  • Engagement expanded significantly through a supplemental contract — a direct reflection of program success

Multi-year executive coaching and strategic facilitation for a global development organization

Global Development Organization · $100M+ Development Projects · 300+ Employees
The Challenge

A global organization responsible for development projects of more than $100M each needed sustained, high-quality support across facilitation, executive coaching, leadership development, and organizational strategy — including a pivot to navigate the disruptions of the COVID-19 pandemic and think through the future of work for a globally distributed workforce.

Our Approach

Over a multi-year engagement, Goose Creek provided facilitation, executive coaching, leadership coaching, symposia, and strategic and team development retreats to this organization. We designed and facilitated sessions for more than two dozen groups within the agency — ranging from a dozen to more than 100 participants — and provided individual coaching to more than 40 leaders at executive and senior leadership levels. The engagement was sustained over three years by the strength of the relationship and the quality of the results, and was initiated by a program manager who had worked with Goose Creek at a previous organization.

Outcomes
  • More than 24 groups facilitated across the organization over a 3-year engagement
  • More than 40 leaders coached at executive and senior leadership levels
  • Strategic and team development retreats anchored key organizational transitions including post-COVID future of work planning

A "leadership development emergency" — restoring trust and empowering leaders in the middle of a public crisis

Major Public Transit Agency
The Challenge

A major public transit agency was in a leadership crisis that had broken into the press — a senior leader had been found deceiving more senior leadership in an operations control center. The agency needed a partner who could move fast, think clearly under pressure, and design a science-based leadership development intervention as a core component of a broader change management effort aimed at restoring trust and empowering frontline leaders.

Our Approach

Goose Creek was brought in specifically because of our ability to think quickly and develop effective, science-based programs without delay. We provided Hogan assessment debriefs to leaders, facilitated group coaching sessions, and conducted employee interviews to identify — through competency modeling — the specific leadership behaviors the workforce most wanted to see from their leaders. The program was intentionally designed around building leadership skills and rebuilding trust. Goose Creek was agile throughout — adjusting the program in real time as new issues surfaced.

Outcomes
  • Rapid program design and deployment into a high-stakes, time-sensitive organizational crisis
  • Hogan debriefs delivered to leaders as a foundation for individual behavioral development
  • Employee-driven competency model developed through structured interviews, grounding the program in the workforce's own voice
  • Program cited by the sponsoring program manager as a "leadership development emergency" handled with precision and agility

Coaching faculty leaders through a major institutional transformation at a flagship public policy school

Major Research University · Public Policy School
The Challenge

A nationally recognized public policy school was navigating a significant institutional transformation — expanding from a graduate-only program to one serving undergraduate students as well. The expansion fundamentally changed the leadership mandate for faculty members who were now expected to function as academic leaders with a substantially broader portfolio and set of responsibilities. They needed a coaching partner who could help faculty strengthen their leadership competencies at exactly the moment those competencies were being tested.

Our Approach

Goose Creek was referred to the school by a previous client — a testament to the firm's reputation for high-quality, customized leadership development. We provided executive coaching to multiple faculty leaders, focusing on the specific competencies, traits, drivers, and experiences most critical for effective academic leadership and institutional advocacy during a period of rapid change. Each engagement included individual assessments integrated with individual development plans, grounding the coaching in data while keeping the work fully responsive to the unique human being in the room.

Outcomes
  • Executive coaching delivered to multiple faculty leaders navigating an expanded leadership mandate
  • Individual assessments and development plans grounded each engagement in evidence
  • Engagement driven entirely by referral — a direct reflection of the quality of prior Goose Creek work
  • Coaching focused on the intersection of academic expertise and organizational leadership — a genuinely rare capability

Federal Commerce Agency Climate Assessment Attachment Theory Organizational Development

An attachment-theory based climate assessment for an agency navigating a major shift in mission and priorities

Federal Trade & Commerce Agency
The Challenge

A federal agency focused on international trade was navigating significant changes in organizational priorities. Leadership needed an evidence-based understanding of how the workforce was responding to those changes — specifically how teams were interacting internally and with other groups — before making decisions about culture and strategy.

Our Approach

Goose Creek conducted a climate assessment grounded in the psychological theory of attachment — using the Change Response Styles instrument to measure how teams were responding to organizational change. Rather than relying on a generic engagement survey, we built a scientifically grounded picture of internal and cross-group dynamics and delivered findings and recommendations directly to the Deputy Assistant Secretary, providing actionable intelligence for culture and strategy decisions.

Outcomes
  • Attachment-theory based climate assessment delivered — a genuinely novel application of attachment science in an organizational context
  • Findings and recommendations delivered directly to the Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Trade
  • Provided a scientifically grounded foundation for culture and strategy decisions at a critical organizational inflection point

When performance problems aren't performance problems — integrating clinical insight and leadership coaching

Federal Agricultural Agency
The Challenge

A high-performing leader at a federal agency began experiencing performance problems. The organization initially interpreted the situation as a straightforward performance issue — until it became clear that underlying mental health concerns were at the root of the challenge. The agency needed a coaching firm with a genuinely rare combination: deep expertise in leadership development and a clinical practitioner background that could support the whole person, not just the leader's behavior at work.

Our Approach

Goose Creek was selected specifically because of our clinical practitioner background — a differentiator that is genuinely uncommon among executive coaching firms. We provided individual coaching to the leader, creating a structured, confidential space that could hold both the leadership development work and the mental health dimensions of the engagement. We also worked with the leader's manager through joint sessions, addressing the relationship dynamics between them and developing the manager's understanding of conflict styles — transforming a fraught supervisory relationship into a more functional and supportive one.

Outcomes
  • Leader successfully supported through a complex intersection of performance and mental health challenges
  • Manager developed greater awareness of conflict styles and the supervisory relationship was meaningfully improved
  • Engagement demonstrated Goose Creek's rare capacity to serve the whole person — not just the leader's organizational role
  • Clinical and coaching expertise integrated seamlessly — a capability that distinguishes Goose Creek from traditional coaching firms
